The New Perennials Hub at Middlebury College includes students, departments and centers on campus, complemented by a Champlain Valley network of community partners in the creative and healing arts, education, agriculture, and sacred practices. These partners work with us in the classroom and on projects that deepen community roots, strengthen relationships with all of our neighbors and our storied landscapes, and build regional resilience.

The first Thriving Communities Project Grants were awarded to five teaching artists and artist teams across the state of Vermont. Courageous Stage's Lindsay Pontius and Craig Maravich are fortunate enough to be recognized in this elite group of teaching artists and change-makers. Over the course of 2019-2020, Courageous Stage created a place-making project with Bee the Change called "If I Say Bee" that addressed local challenges related to climate change. This project was also a part of the One World Festival of Arts and Imagination in July 2020.
